American Indian activist LaDuke to speak at UM

MISSOULA — An international activist for American Indian and environmental causes, Winona LaDuke, will speak at the University of Montana on Monday, Feb. 25, as part the UM President’s Lecture Series.
LaDuke’s presentation is called “Creating Just Societies: The Environment, the Economy and Human Relations in the Next Millennium.” It will focus on creating just societies in harmony with nature. LaDuke will speak at 8 p.m. in the Montana Theater in UM’s Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center.
Earlier that day, from 3:10 to 4:30 p.m., LaDuke will give a seminar titled “Indigenous Thinking on Sustainable Develop-ment: Strategies for the Northern Plains-Great Lakes Region.” It will be held in Room 123 of the Gallagher Business Build-ing.
Both events are free and open to the public.
