Teenager missing since Jan. 2 found deceased

Damon Roy Edison, 16, was last seen around 8 a.m. Jan. 2 at his grandmother's house in Spider Rock, Ariz., according to the boy's aunt, Rena Whitney.

"Damon has a medical history that requires him to take his medication daily," Whitney said Tuesday.

Whitney said Edison told his grandmother that he was going "back to Pinedale," where he is originally from. Then he walked east down an unpaved road that stretches from Spider Rock to Fluted Rock, that's the last time he was seen.

"His grandmother was telling him not to go that way. Snow is too deep," Whitney said. "But she wasn't sure if he understood ... she talked to him in Navajo ... we just want to know where he is at ... we're worrying about him and looking every day."

My Two Beads Worth contacted relatives today - January 16, 2009 and with sadness, learned that the young boy is deceased. The family is in the process of planning funeral arrangments.

Our sympathy to Damon's family and friends.
