Red Lake
The tragedy at Red Lake has been one of the most difficult times for all people in Indian country and the hearts of people from all over the world are filled with sorrow for the loss of so many innocent lives.
Will we ever know why? What can we do to prevent something like this from happening again?
I don't know the answers. I do know as a parent, I can only imagine the pain of the parents who lost their children that day. I can understand the loss of a husband, a brother, parent, grandparent, I am no stranger to death, but all I can do as a human being, is pray for the families and pray that the lives lost that day have made that journey to the Spirit World and are in Peace with The Great One.
Pray that something like this never happens again in our schools - anywhere. Schools are supposed to be safe, a place of learning and socializing for our children.
My Two Beads Worth has decided not to print the many reports that have been ongoing since the shooting at Red Lake. Out of respect to the families of the victims, My Two Beads Worth will not reprint the numerous reports and stories. When the tragedy happened, I learned of it as soon as it was broadcast by national television affiliates. I reported on that when it happened, but I could not bring myself to adding here all the numerous reports and conjecture that has been so abundant in the media.
The investigation is ongoing. I pray for justice and I pray for healing for all the people of Red Lake.
