Is it any wonder George Bush doesn't want Americans to watch Aljazerra news - Americans aren't about to get this news at home in the early evening or on the late news.
This is the reality of America - we have our own Third World countries and we ignore them, we turn our backs, and we continually blame the people - the victims - of what was a planned form of genocide that began long ago by the US government and continues to this very day.
While we salve our own conscience with donations to various charities, we do nothing to demand that our government make good on the treaties they have never honored; we say nothing as the US government continues to steal native land, and we do nothing as every year, people freeze to death for lack of heat, or die in a fire because of faulty heaters used to burn what little wood they can get to keep warm.
As many families sit around the Christmas tree this year, while their children open their presents from Santa - and the rich jet set to all the places the rich and famous gather during the holiday season, the small voices of children are heard, crying, from the cold, from hunger.
The elders huddle toward a fire, if they are lucky enough to have one, and pray to survive another winter to be there for there for their grandchildren.
Happy Thanksgiving America! We owe it all to Columbus. Merry Christmas America! We owe it all to all those who came afterwards, to steal, murder, torture and take what was never theirs to take and this is their legacy.
