Phoenix, Arizona--Join the Piestewas & Jessica Lynch on March 23 in remembering Lori Ann Piestewa and other soldiers that died in Operation Freedom and in Afghanistan. March 23 is three years from the date that Lori and our other soldiers were ambushed and lost their lives in Nasiriyah, Iraq.
Representatives from the Hopi Tribe, singers from the Lumbee Tribe in North Carolina and the Navajo/Hopi reservations, local Tribal Councils, elected officials, and many Honor Guard Units throughout the state will join us. Former POWs Shoshana Johnson and Joseph Hudson have also been invited.
WHAT: Sunrise Memorial Service at Piestewa Peak
DATE: Thursday, March 23, 2006, 6:30 to 8 a.m.
WHERE: Piestewa Peak in Phoenix at the Hopi

Evening Reception and Candlelight Vigil
The public is also invited to a special evening reception candlelight vigil to honor families of soldiers that have died in Iraq and Afghanistan and for returning soldiers, especially those injured. This is an opportunity to meet and honor our families and soldiers that have sacrificed so much, together with the Piestewas, Jessica Lynch, and other POWs:

Hors d Oeuvres will be served at both events.
