The following files contain documentation from correspondence and other reports. Some if it is repetitive, due to responses going back and forth but I have left all of it in the original form in which I received it. Nothing has been altered or changed.
There comes a time that we have to expect accountability. Another hard winter is coming. Again, I challenge the LPDC or LPDOC to prove in writing and by factual proof what has been done for the youth, elders, and others at Pine Ridge, Rosebud or anywhere else for that matter that has been of great help and benefit to the people that has been completely financed and managed by the LPDC.
Harvey Arden talks about all the good he's done and seen so why is it so difficult for him to give facts on his claims? He mentions one family and some children, but the information was sketchy at best. I'm sure there have been times they may have provided food to children and accompanying adults, but isn't that something we would do anyhow?
I attended two gatherings in 2001 through Dreamkeepers. I stayed in a motel and paid my own way and would not have done it any other way. The gatherings were held in a private home and there were people who stayed at the home, in sleeping bags and in tents. The home owners opened their home completely to everyone present. The main purpose for these gatherings was speaking engagements for Arvol Looking Horse to promote his book "White Buffalo Teachings" and to speak before a very enthralled group of younger people. They also held an Inipi with people from as far away as Siberia. We were also invited to participate in the Inipi, but I did not do so, as I felt uncomfortable taking part in such a Sacred ceremony with strangers.
The intent in writing this article is mainly because of the questionable handling of funds and donations by a non-profit that continues to ask for donations. As you can see by the Play, even though it was held once, Harvey began writing anyone and everyone on the internet in an attempt to get donations so that Keith Rabin could put the play on. As soon as I asked questions of Keith Rabin, it changed and a movie company did the play instead, with no mention of Keith Rabin. If anyone is going to ask for donations based upon the reasons Harvey gives in his email which is included here, the public has a right to know what will those funds will be used for.
Legitimate non-profits will not hesitate to provide anyone with their Articles of Incorporation, listing of their Board of Directors, or show proof of what they have used and accomplished using public donations. They will provide financial records. Rather than receive that information, Harvey Arden turns to name-calling and wild accusations in an attempt to take notice from the serious questions at hand. Did it work? That's up to all of you. If you are an individual or group that has donated a lot of funds to the LPDC or LPDOC or any of the committees prior to that, I would think you would be concerned as to how your money has been used. It's your right to know.
