7TH Annual Oglala Commemoration

On June 26, 2006 the 7th Annual Oglala Commemoration will take place in Oglala, South Dakota. Please feel free to print out the Poster below.
The Oglala Commemoration is just 2 weeks away.
The event is to remember Joe Stuntz and the victims of the "Reign of Terror" Remembering these people were brother, sisters, mothers and father, sons and daughters who lost their lives during this time..
This year we will also be honoring those who have walked on this passed year. Those include Calvin Jumping Bull, Dave Chief, Steve Robideau, Geraldine Janis, Diane Crow Dog, Clyde Red Shirt and Michael Haney.
We will once again gather at the Little Family cemetery for a prayer ceremony, followed by the Memorial March to the Jumping Bull Property. There words will be shared about the times, the people and the memories.
A dinner will follow immediately after at the Our Lady of the Sioux Church at the Brother Rene Hall. The Youth Concert will get underway shortly afterwards.
The Concert will include Skylar Wolf from the Navajo Nation, Suga Loaf Watson aka: Julian B from the Muscogee Nation, Buggin Malone from the Onieda Nation , Wayquay - Anishnabe from NYC, JD Nash will host and share his words and music with us. Native Era - Locally from Pine Ridge and Dale Alan from Michigan.
The t-shirts will be in this week sometime and you may prepay for one if your are not attending the event. Send an email to Oglala Commemoration
As for the auction, I will leave the page up a little bit longer. We wish to thank everyone, those who donated items, those who placed bids, to those who donated pendleton blankets for the raffles, to those who donated spaces at the pow-wows. We could not do this without all of you.
Please if you are an auction winner, I need to ask you to get your payments in ASAP, with the event only being 2 weeks away the money is needed..
