Meeting on Highway 79 Extension near Bear Butte
March 9, 2006
Defenders,
The State of SD has been discussing the possibility of building an extension to connect Interstate 90 with SD Highway 34 through BLM land behind Fort Meade VA Hospital. This extension will bring more traffic near Bear Butte and also desecrate a Ute burial site. We need to attend this meeting, gather information, and present our concerns. Please alert others who are concerned about Bear Butte and protecting a Ute burial site.
Thank you.
Charmaine White Face, Coordinator
