Independence for the Lakota is:
By Scott Barta
When the 9 trillion dollars in “Black Hills” gold sitting as stolen property in Fort Knox Kentucky is returned to the Lakota Nation for reburial.
When the trillion of tons of Lakota coal – used to burn for electricity for tens of millions of americans for their TV’s, DVD’s, computers, lights, heat, etc., etc., etc. - stolen from 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie Homelands in what is now called “Wyoming and Montana” is paid for and all future removal is previously negotiated for. are given back to us, and
When Bison in Yellowstone Park are not murdered by the u.s. government because they roam free and maintain their freedom (a foreign concept to “americans”)
When Indian names and images are not used in sports or as mascots.
When the children are taught at home by their mother and their father – who can provide for their family all the food, shelter, and clothing necessary for family security.
When all books are burned (except Vine Deloria’s) and truth can be heard from the mouths of Lakota Peoples.
When permission or licenses do not have to be “obtained” in order to hunt and gather upon our homelands.
When the Lakota can be properly scaffolded when they leave for the Spirit World.
When the bones and daily living items (misnomer “artifacts”) are returned from museums and universities for reburial.
When the illegal “1934 act tribal councils” are ignored (and women let back into the circle of Oyate Omniciye) – which stops the u.s. government from continually offering them “general fund” monies to host the dumping of toxic nuclear waste dumps on reservations.
When the “Four Ugly Faces” (“mount Rushmore”) and the so-called “Crazy Horse” fiascos are blown off and the once sacred and pristine sites restored to their original beauty.
