Associate Director Position Available
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing Honor the Earth's operations as a national public advocacy and grant making organization focused on Native environmental issues. The Associate Director will act as the hub of communications between staff, Advisory Board, and partners while providing administrative and strategic oversight for Honor the Earth's fundraising, grant making and public outreach programs. The job includes office, information and staff management, financial administration and fiscal reporting and the implementation of our fundraising, grant making and organizing campaigns. The Associate Director reports directly to and works closely with the Executive Director and Advisory Board.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A. in a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
At least two years of management experience in a non-profit agency, or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in non-profits.
A commitment to and background in environmental justice work, specifically relating to Indigenous peoples.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational management skills. Experience working with multiple staff, volunteers, interns and programs.
Demonstrated leadership qualities.
Significant and demonstrated success in a range of development and marketing activities, including work with foundations and grant writing, individual donor and major gifts solicitation campaigns and benefit event planning. Knowledge of and experience working with database programs for donor management helpful.
Significant and demonstrated success in financial management including budget development, accounting, and financial reporting.
Significant and demonstrated success managing local, regional and/or national organizing campaigns; experience in managing media and public relations campaigns helpful.
Ability to engage diverse communities and audiences.
Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple time-sensitive tasks.
