Documentary shot in Hills to air Nov. 27
A television documentary, “Comanche Warriors,” shot on location at the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary south of Hot Springs and the 777 Bison Ranch near Hermosa, will premiere on the History Channel at 5 p.m. MST on Sunday, Nov. 27.
“Comanche Warriors” is the story of how the Comanche transformed themselves into superior warriors by becoming the first tribe to tame the wild mustangs, according to a news release.
The documentary by Digital Ranch Productions, a Los Angeles based-production company, was filmed in South Dakota in October.
It features Moses Brings Plenty of Omaha, Neb., a native of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, as Comanche leader Quanah Parker.
A number of American Indian and cavalry re-enactors from South Dakota appear in the documentary.
