In spite of numerous requests for reports and documentation for donations and claims from the Peltier Committee of action being done on behalf of children and youth, they have not provided any of the information requested. Now, they are once again requesting money for Christmas for the children and they have yet to provide information as to how many children they served last year. They have an obligation to account to those people who have donated money to fund such projects, but their response is they are not accountable to anyone, so why would anyone continue to provide donations without any substantial proof of where the money went and how it was spent.
People are asking but getting no answers. Non-profits are accountable and funds that are collected are not meant to cover personal expenses of "volunteers." Apparently to some people who continue to donate, this doesn't matter - they are giving on "blind faith" you may as well say, and that is wrong. That encourages others to do the same and therefore, no one knows for certain how the money was actually spent.
Peltier was denied parole again. He must wait till he is eligible for parole again before he appears before the parole board and no amount of donations will change the outcome of a parole hearing. So, where is the money going? These questions are not out of line by any means. They are questions that should be answered without hesitation by the Committee but the Committee has no reports to provide or so they claim.
My Two Beads Worth, on the request of several individuals has made every attempt to secure some information, but without success. They simply refuse to answer. So, the ball goes into the court of those individuals who have donated repeatedly. If this is how you wish to donate to any cause without any substantial information as to how the money is utilized, that is your choice. If I am to donate any money to any organization, it must be one that is legitimate and is willing to provide annual financial reports and other information upon request. I urge you to do the same. I deem the Peltier Committee a failure as far as accountability goes. They are quite successful in obtaining your money just on their say-so. So, they will continue to use it in any way they wish - the ball is in the donar's court.
